Due to the travel restrictions* that have been put in place in this region, Snowy Mtn Cafe in Xiahe and Langmusi are closed until further notice.

*The reason for the continued restrictions in this area have not been made known to us by the local authorities, however most likely they fear that the local Tibetans would be emboldened by an influx of tourism to pursue more anti-government activities. This probably would not happen, but that is likely the cause of the restrictions.*

As of July 17th, Xiahe and Langmusi are still off limits for tourists. If and when that changes, I will post the information here on this site!

See our articles below for alternative travel ideas. I personally find many of these areas to be more interesting than the usual visits to the Xiahe and Langmusi.
